The Coffee Shack is undoubtedly one of the best coffee shops on the Big Island.

This family-owned establishment boasts panoramic sea views and is famous for its 100% Kona coffee.

The Coffee Shack is located on the mountainside, where its coffee is grown (offering a smooth taste thanks to the slightly higher altitude).

Although the coffee is certainly the highlight, there’s a fantastic breakfast menu (7 am – 1 pm), as well as a variety of sandwiches, pizzas, and salads.

Not to mention the tasty desserts, with favorites including the macadamia nut pie, lilikoi cheesecake, and coconut cream pie (a chocolate flavor is also available).

Regarding the latter, their ube latte is one of the top picks. It is one of my favorite ube lattes across all of the islands!

8. Kona Haven Coffee

Located in the heart of Kona is Kona Haven Coffee (it sometimes shows as Kona Heaven on maps!). This cute cafe is a staple for morning-goers living in and visiting the western Hawai’i city.

Kona Haven has been serving coffee lovers for a decade and they focus on the flavors of Kona coffee beans.

One thing that separates Kona Haven from some of the other coffee shops on the Big Island is that they have a family-owned boutique coffee farm on the island and source all of their coffee from there!

All beans are hand-picked, roasted, and milled within the farm and then served as delicious coffee each day at the cafe on Ali’i Drive in Kona.

They also have an online shop where you can purchase if you’re looking to take some beans home (they also have bags in the cafe).

In addition to coffee, you will find small eats inside the Kona cafe.
